# Enable Request Correction and Resubmission

Rather than rejecting a request entirely for bad or missing data, and forcing your users to submit an entirely new request, you can use an amendable approval task instead. These task types can also be utilized to offer users the option to appeal specific decisions, or allow them the opportunity to add to or modify their requests for other reasons. Since the task itself is capturing the digital signature (*via SSO login credentials when enabled*) and the date and time, it functions as an electronic signature as well.

ASM uses the User Approval screens to accomplish this.

This capability is an advanced configuration and should not be attempted without a thorough understanding of the Approval tasks and Workflow processes.
{% endhint %}

The video below will give you an overview of how to implement this capability. For more assistance, please reach out to Alemba Support, your Technical Account Manager, or your professional Services consultant.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.alemba.com/asm-hermes/setup-and-configure-asm/configuring-your-system/customizing-options-for-the-self-service-portal/enable-request-correction-and-resubmission.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
