# Security

This will include setting up and maintaining the system structure, including [partitions](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/partitioning.md), if appropriate, and other global settings such as [emai](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/messaging.md)l and [pager settings](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/pager-settings.md), [server time zone](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/server-time-zone.md) and globally referenced [system titles](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/system-titles.md).

Your role will also require you to ensure that the system is secure, and the information contained on it is protected from misuse, or access by the unauthorized people. You can do this by configuring [global ](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security/security-settings.md)and [partitioned security settings](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security/security-settings-partitioned.md), creating [workflow management](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security-roles/workflow-management-security-roles.md) and [IPK groups](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security/ipk-groups.md), [managing logins](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/system-settings-menu/activity-log.md) and [creating security role](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security-roles.md)[s](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/setting-up-your-system/system-administration-settings/security-roles.md) which dictate the access permissions analysts can have.

You can also keep your licensing requirements up-to-date by managing [license corrals](/asm-legacy-product-documentation/setup-and-configure-asm/limited-support-end-of-life-capabilities/concurrent-licensing/license-corrals.md) (prior to Kratos) so that analysts can get optimum access to the system and key analysts can always access their login.
