CMDB Item Physical Statuses
You can define physical statuses which Analysts can use to indicate the current status of a configuration item, for example, whether it is On Order, In Repair, or in Testing.
Creating a Status
Select the Menu button, then Admin, and then select System Administration. The System Administration window is displayed.
In the Explorer pane expand CMDB.
Select CMDB Item Physical Statuses to open the window.
Select the New icon . A new row is added to the browse table.
In the Name list, type the name of the new status you want to create.
Repeat for each status you want to create.
Select the Save icon to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
You can change the display order of the status types in the table. To do so, select a status by selecting on it and use the up and down icons to change its position in the table.
Renaming a Status
Select the Menu button, then Admin, and then select System Administration. The System Administration window is displayed.
In the Explorer pane expand CMDB.
Select CMDB Item Physical Statuses to open the window.
Select the status you want to rename. The entry is highlighted.
Type the name you want to assign for the selected status.
Select the Save icon to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
Deleting a Status
You cannot reverse this procedure. If you delete a status by mistake, you have to re-create the entry by creating a new status.
You cannot delete the system default, but you can rename it. If you attempt to delete the system default, you will receive a warning message.
Select the Menu button, then Admin, and then select System Administration. The System Administration window is displayed.
In the Explorer pane expand CMDB.
Select CMDB Item Physical Statuses to open the window.
Select the status entry you want to delete from the list by selecting on it. The entry is highlighted.
Select the Delete icon .
Select the Save icon to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
