Defining Sources
The Integration Sources window displays all Sources configured for your system.
Directory Server Integration Sources
ASM Core can be integrated and synchronized with supported Directory Server technologies. You can import analyst and User databases from other directory servers into ASM Core. This means analyst and/or User details from an external database can be imported into ASM Core.
The ASM Core Directory Server uses Microsoft.NET Directory Services library. This technology supports communication with the following directory servers which are compliant with the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and other technologies:
Microsoft Active Directory
Sun Java System Directory Server
Novell eDirectory
Sources and Partitioning
Sources can be partitioned. If a source is created in a particular partition and CMDB items are also partitioned, CMDB items created from the external resources discovered on this source are assigned the source’s partition. If a source is not partitioned, the CMDB Items created from the external resources can inherit the partition through the template applied to them (if a partition is assigned to the template). If a source is partitioned, but CMDB items are not partitioned, the CMDB items created from the external source are not partitioned.
