Using Nano

Nano focuses on the Agent's Experience and has been designed to deliver a streamlined experience empowering analysts and agents to get in and quickly and easily get work done.

Nano is excellent for the agent that may merely be triaging calls, logging calls, or updating calls. In fact, apart from System Administrative functions and a few other more advanced activities found only in the Core application (AKA "Core"), most analysts/agents and team leads prefer to use Nano! It is perfect for those that only ever login and, for example, update the status, add a note or action item, or perhaps reassign a ticket. It supports well the actual business of working your queue without all the added features and "noise" of the full application. The included drag and drop Kan Ban view makes it quick and easy to manage the entire estate.

Nano provides a simplified interface and functions for those who:

• Work with calls - creating, updating and closing calls

• Work with requests - creating, updating, and completing requests

• Work with tasks and approvals - updating and completing tasks and approvals

• Send emails from calls, requests, or tasks

• Manage their workload using the Outstanding windows

• Review and edit Knowledge Articles, CMDB Items, and Person records

NANO has no administrative functions. It is not designed for power users or System Administrators.

To administer system settings, design templates, screens and reports, work with other entity types, or to perform Service Desk functions such as cloning and linking, Analysts and System Administrators must use ASM Core.

Important Points

1. Analysts may see a subset of these functions, dependent on the Security Roles assigned them by the system administrator. To perform functions not included in this list, analysts must use ASM Core.

2. Nano is not available for Users and External Contacts, who should continue to use the Self Service Portal. An analyst who also has User or External Contact selected in their person record can still log into Nano and will be presented with the same options as other analysts in Nano with the same Security Roles.

3. Analysts who create and modify Contracts in ASM Core cannot work with Contracts in Nano because Contracts are not a function available in Nano.

4. Analysts who can create calls in ASM Core can also create calls in Nano because the analyst has the appropriate Security Role permissions and because the function is available in Nano.

We’ve reimagined Nano’s UI, giving it a cleaner design and reorganising key functions into a dynamic action toolbar. This makes navigating and performing actions far more efficient keeping analysts focused on their work, not their tools. Nano continues to share many of the same capabilities as Core, while delivering them in a simplified, analyst-friendly format.

Staying Informed at a glance

From the home screen, analysts can quickly view the latest news both end-user updates and internal items. A new Pin to Top option ensures important notices always stay visible.

Smarter Call Handling

The call screen has been upgraded with a top-bar action panel, placing key actions Assign, Save, Cancel exactly where analysts need them. No more scrolling to the bottom of the page. We’re also introducing the Conversation Widget, mirroring what end users see in the Self-Service Portal. This sleek slide-out panel stays in view wherever you are on the screen. Calls can now also be linked directly from within the screen, making relationship management between calls even easier.

Improved Workload Management

Managing workload in Nano is now more powerful than ever:

These options are now cleanly presented and only a click away. Analysts will also benefit from Core style workload and outstanding item views, replacing the previous tick-box and filter-based approach.

Lightning-Fast Search

Searching in Nano has been supercharged. Analysts can now build search criteria as they type available across all search areas. It’s fast, accurate, and efficient. And with a single click, you can copy the OData query perfect for use with our new dashboarding tools or any external BI system.

Enhanced Visibility with Breadcrumbs

We have redesigned the breadcrumb trail to make it cleaner, clearer, and more visible, helping analysts always understand exactly where they are within Nano. And other additional enhancements.
