Person Profile
You can define person profiles which Analysts can use in the Person Details window to indicate the area in which the User or Analyst is involved, such as Sales, or Systems.
The Analyst Profile 1 and 2 fields are hidden by default on the Person Details window but can be added through the ASM Designer.
Creating a Profile Value
Before you start
You must have CMDB Setup enabled within your General Access security role in order to configure any CMDB administration settings. Depending on if or how your system is partitioned, ensure that you are working in the correct partition.
Select the Menu button , then Admin, and then select System Administration. The System Administration window is displayed. In the Explorer pane expand CMDB.
Select Person Profile to open the window.
Select the Profile Type: Analyst Profile 1, Analyst Profile 2 or User Profile.
Select . A new row is created to the browse table.
In the Name list, type the name of the value you want to create.
Repeat these for each profile value you want to create.
Select to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
After you select , the Person Profile window refreshes and Analyst Profile 1 is automatically selected again. If you were working on another type of profile, re-select it to see the values that you have saved.
Renaming a Profile Value

Select the Profile Type:, User Profile, Analyst Profile 1, or Analyst Profile 2.
Select the value you want to edit by selecting on it. The entry is highlighted.
Type the name you want to assign for the selected value.
Select to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
After you select , the Person Profile window refreshes and Analyst Profile 1 is automatically selected again. If you were working on another type of profile, re-select it to see the values that you have saved.
Deleting a Profile Value
Before you start
You must have CMDB Setup enabled within your General Access security role in order to configure any CMDB administration settings. Depending on if or how your system is partitioned, ensure that you are working in the correct partition.
You cannot reverse this procedure. If you delete a profile value by mistake, you have to re-create the entry by creating a new profile value.
Select the Menu button , then Admin, and then select System Administration. The System Administration window is displayed. In the Explorer pane expand CMDB.
Select Person Profile to open the window.
Select the Profile Type:, User Profile, Analyst Profile 1, or Analyst Profile 2.
Select the value you want to delete from the profile.
Select . If you attempt to delete the system default, you will receive a warning message.
Select to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
After you select , the Person Profile window refreshes and Analyst Profile 1 is automatically selected again. If you were working on another type of profile, re-select it to see the values that you have saved.
