Pager Types
Each pager type is linked to a template, which is in turn associated with a pre-defined query.
A template is a file that is used to generate a message. Pager templates can be administered in the ASM Designer.
Viewing Pager Types
Select the Menu button , then Admin, then select System Administration.
The System Administration window appears.
Select the Pager Types option from the Explorer pane. The Pager Types window appears, listing all the pager message types that are shipped with ASM Core.
Name
The title of the pager type. The name indicates the related entity that uses this pager type
3. Select the required row in the table, and double-click it or use the View Map for Selected Pager Type button on the toolbar.
This displays the Pager Type Map window. At the top of the window, you can see the following details, which are read-only and cannot be modified:
Code
The number assigned to the pager type
Entity Table
The name of the table for the entity on which the selected message type is based
4. Below these fields, two browse tables appear. The first one lists all the pager templates in the system. The second displays the template linked to the selected pager type. The query linked to this template is also displayed.
5. The Default option is selected, which indicates that this template will be used as a default when a pager message is sent.
Linking Templates to Pager Types
Every pager type must have at least one template associated with it, but you can add more if you wish.
Select the Menu button , then Admin, then select System Administration.

Select the Pager Types option from the Explorer pane. The Pager Types window appears, listing all the pager message types that are shipped with ASM Core.
Select the required row in the table, and double-click it or select . This displays the Pager Type Map window.
Select the template you want from the Template table, and then select .
Select the Query field and choose a query type from the drop-down list. The query updates data in the body of the message. Only those queries that are defined for the entity table of the selected pager type are displayed in the lists.
Tick the Default check box if you want to designate this template as the default to be used when sending a pager message of this type.
Select to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
Unlinking Templates from Pager Types
Select the Menu button , then Admin, then select System Administration.
The System Administration window appears.
Select the Pager Types option from the Explorer pane. The Pager Types window appears, listing all the pager message types that are shipped with ASM Core.
Select the required row in the table, and double-click it or select . This displays the Pager Type Map window.
Select the template you want to delete from the right hand table, and then select .
If you attempt to remove the last remaining template, you will receive a warning dialog box telling you that there must be at least one pager template associated with each pager typeand you will be prevented from deleting it.
Select to save the changes. Provide the Change Reasons if prompted to do so.
